Bright, High Rooms in a New Building – With Step-Free Access
My practice is in a new building at Albisriederstrasse 290A. The rooms are bright and high. Anyone who needs to find calm needs a place where they feel comfortable and can relax – and that is exactly what you will find here. The photos above show you what it looks like before you come for the first time.
The practice is on the ground floor with step-free access – so also with a wheelchair, a rollator or a leg that is not cooperating right now. There are no stairs or steps on the way into the practice.
Your First Appointment: What to Bring
For the first consultation, anything that shows your medical history is helpful. Please bring whatever you have to hand:
- Medical reports and earlier findings
- a list of your medications, including herbal and over-the-counter ones
- MRI or X-ray images, if any were taken
This saves us guesswork and saves me asking whether a complaint has already been investigated. If you have none of this, come anyway – it is not a condition, just a help. How a first consultation works and what it costs is described under Fees and insurance.
Getting Here: From Altstetten, Wiedikon and All of District 9
My practice is at Albisriederstrasse 290A in the middle of Zurich Albisrieden, in District 9. From neighbouring Altstetten you can be here in a few minutes, and the journey is short from Wiedikon, Höngg, Sihlfeld, Schlieren and Uitikon-Waldegg too.
My practice therefore serves an area well beyond Albisrieden – many people deliberately look for a TCM practice nearby instead of crossing the city for every treatment. If you are unsure whether the journey is worthwhile for you, give me a call: I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for your concern.
By public transport you are here quickly: from Zurich main station, tram 3 runs to the Siemens stop – from there it is about 240 metres on foot, roughly four minutes along Albisriederstrasse. If you come by bus 67, get off at Fellenbergstrasse; from there it is about 270 metres or four minutes via Albisriederstrasse. Both routes are flat. All bus lines, the timetable and directions by car can be found under Contact.
If you come by car: there are parking spaces in the blue zone in the neighbourhood. If you want to be on the safe side, park in the public car park of the Coop supermarket Zurich Albisrieden (A-Park) at Albisriederstrasse 334 – from there it is about 400 metres on foot, roughly five minutes along Albisriederstrasse.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Practice in Zurich Albisrieden
How long does the first appointment take and what does it cost?
The first consultation takes about 90 minutes and costs CHF 225; a follow-up treatment takes about 60 minutes and costs CHF 150. All the details are under Fees and insurance.
What does Traditional Chinese Medicine do?
Traditional Chinese Medicine harmonises the flow of energy, Qi, in your body. Targeted stimuli release blockages and activate the body’s self-healing powers. You can see which complaints I treat most often under Main areas of treatment.
Is acupuncture painful?
A little – but differently from what most people expect: a short, fine prick, often just a pulling sensation that fades again straight away. I have described exactly how the needles feel and how you can have a say during the session on the acupuncture page.
In which languages can I be treated?
Besides German, I also treat in French, English, Spanish and Italian.
Does health insurance cover the treatment?
If you have supplementary insurance for complementary medicine, it covers a large share of the costs depending on your policy; I am registered with the EMR and a member of the NVS. Basic insurance only applies to acupuncture by physicians. Details and a worked example can be found under Fees and insurance.
